I have not had much of an appetite lately, but today was a different story. I did not have the opportunity to cook breakfast before church, so my friend and I were ready for some good food after service. I decided to visit Alchemy Memphis for brunch. Located in the Cooper Young Historic District, this restaurant is a hidden gem. My first visit was three years ago, and I was eager to revisit.
Once we arrived to the sleek, loft-life eatery, we were immediately greeted by the hostess. The atmosphere is very chill and laidback. It is fitting for both, groups and couples — offering an outdoor patio and bar.
After we were seated, our server, Chelsea, took our order. I decided to have the Alchemy Breakfast, which includes two eggs, Benton’s bacon, Delta grits, a buttermilk biscuit, and I enjoyed some breakfast potatoes. I opted for water. Pray for me. To say that my meal was delicious, is an understatement. Have you ever had food so good that you were literally jumping from one item on your plate to the next? That was me. I am not a fan of grits, so I gave them to my friend. However, the fluffy buttermilk biscuit, savory bacon — not too hard, not too soft, eggs scrambled to perfection, and crispy potatoes took me to a heavenly place. Not to mention, the servings are plenteous. Alchemy is great for brunch lovers!
The staff is very friendly, and Chelsea made sure we enjoyed our experience.
